The cannibal family is back in Wrong Turn 3 but this time they are going after a group of convicts being transported. After a great original and a great sequel number three takes a nosedive. I know that most of the time by now sequels just get really bad but they could have built off of number two. This movie had no character development, horrible CGI, and a long list of other bad things. I’ll go more in depth but don’t expect a lot of good things.
The good in this movie? The kills except the CGI is so horrendous that it's not a good. In 2009 we had way better CGI effects but I guess they wanted the budget low so we get kills that look so fake you look away in embarrassment. If they were going to make the CGI that bad they might as well just made the kills simple. The acting, the line delivery, and just the overall writing is poor as well. You feel like you’re aimlessly going through this movie hoping you see the credits soon. I will say I like the thought behind the movie. A group of convicts being transported and they must go a different route because of a high risk inmate but that is where it ends. I just don’t see how you can take two great movies and follow up with a movie that's not even worthy of the $5 bin.
I guess what can you expect for a direct to dvd movie but you can’t tell me a low budget can’t make a good horror movie. I’m giving this movie a one out of five stars. Is there worse out there? Maybe so but this movie is not worth checking out. Well I guess it can only go up from here right? Right!? Thanks for reading!
