Can I just start off by saying that the playing parts of the end of the previous movie is annoying! Hopefully the viewers have watched part one and two so you don’t have to show what happened last time. The sad thing is you spend most of the first half of this movie waiting for the actual movie to start. The beginning with the store owners being killed off is not necessary as it serves no purpose to the story later. Then you finally get to meet the soon to be dead teens. Another part of this movie is the 3D aspect of it that you can’t enjoy so some of the shots seem useless sometimes.

Ok, I will calm down a little bit on the bashing because this movie isn’t terrible and it is definitely watchable. The most awesome thing about this movie is Jason finally gets his iconic hockey mask. With the hockey mask on it just completes the look and makes him look fiersome. Also how about that title intro with the cool 80s music? They give Jason a ton of people to kill in this movie with the store owners, bike gang, and of course the teens. The kills are very well done in this movie and probably would be better with the 3D effect especially the harpoon in the eye. The characters are terrible in this movie though with Shelly leading the way as most annoying so you don’t mind seeing Jason going on a killing spree. Richard Brooker as Jason is pretty awesome though as he is a huge guy that even crushes a guys face in. I liked that the movie visited multiple places in its duration but everything seemed to come back to the barn which gets away from the camp feeling the first two give you.

At the end of it all if you can get past the slow first half of the movie then you will enjoy the second half. It isn’t the best one in the series but it is fun to watch and Jason alone makes it worth it. I’m going to give Friday the 13th Part III a 3 out of 5 stars and definitely something you should go watch.
