Cry_Wolf (2005)

Movie: Cry_Wolf Synopsis: Eight unsuspecting high school seniors at a posh boarding school, who delight themselves on playing games of lies, come face-to-face with terror and learn that nobody believes a liar- even when they’re telling the truth. Release Date: September 16, 2005 MPAA Rating: PG-13 Writer: Jeff Wadlow Beau Bauman Director: Jeff Wadlow Star Cast: Julian Morris Lindy Booth Jared Padalecki Jesse Janzen Paul James Sandra McCoy Ethan Cohn Kristy Wu Anna Deavere Smith Gary Cole Jon Bob Jovi This movie takes a classic tale and puts a new twist to it. A group of teens who play a game filled with lies decide to take the game a little bit to far. The group of teens use the recent murder of one of the students to start a frenzy on campus. Who is the serial killer and are they joining in on the fun? I’m going to say this right off at the start here. This movie is not worth the watch. I don’t know why or where I bought this movie. I did research and found that the movie was done on a one million dollar budget which taking that into consideration isn’t bad. I hate to say it though but if you put a movie out there then be ready for the reviews which are mostly not favorable. As far as actors they picked up some good ones but I don’t know if it’s the script or poor execution or maybe both but the acting is robotic to me. If Bon Jovi would have started singing this probably would have raised the value of the movie. Poor lines and poor line delivery made this movie hard to watch. One thing they did really well was the shooting location. The beautiful scenery and the school would give this movie a five star review but with all the negatives it can’t be. On top of that though when it gets dark the campus can pass as a scary place. So let’s give this part an A+ since I have been so hard on the rest. In closing, I love the concept of Cry_Wolf and maybe with more money pumped into it it may have been a top notch horror movie. I’m going to have to say though this movie gets a 1 out of 5 stars. If you really want to watch it you can rent it for $2.99 online.
